Yes you have to practice and work-it for a time. But it leads you to understand the brewing process, grinding coffee and buying good coffee. La Pavoni is not only a work horse but also a teacher, how good could that be!

In the end, it’s not the press-button-and-ready coffee model. You need to put in the effort and learn how to use the La Pavoni Professional Machine. The end result is very satisfying. Very nice machine. Heavily and well-built. Looks like it should last forever. Good price. Works very well, just as advertised. Only problem is the cappuccinos are so delicious that I need to switch to decaf, or I'll never sleep again. Easy to drink too many!

i bought this pavoni to replace a machine i bought in italy in the early 80s and have used nearly every day since! the old one is now relegated to providing parts when needed, and the new one is just the same quality - i love the mechanical machines - no noisy pumps, nothing to break...

Don't let the simplicity of the machine intimidate or fool you, this is one easy machine to use and you will never spend $$$$ at the local coffee shop for an espresso or cappuccino. Maintenance is super easy also and this thing should last for years.
